Fresh salsa is what I have been waiting all garden season for. Not everyone in the house is a fan of fresh salsa, Eddie Maly did make a big contribution going to get the chips so I could devour salsa when it chilled.

Tonight’s canning adventure was peaches🍑 from mommas tree. They turned out absolutely gorgeous. I’m really excited to enjoy these later this winter ❄️

I had my first jar break on me tonight, but it was bound to happen soon enough.

Of all the things we’ve been through this growing season, one of my most proud moments is the onion harvest.
On to the fall gardening. I think the pumpkins will be BIG. 🎃
A luffa gord has emerged. This will be an adventure….
We spotted a farm kitty for the second day in a row. Good sign.

Things have really taken off at the farm and it’s keeping us busy. We’ve officially started our canning journey and I am enjoying it, really. I saved tomato skins to dehydrate and will grind into tomato powder. The pumpkins and squash might be a little behind (🦝 😪) but I’m getting bags of tomatoes daily. The pasta sauce has the seal of approval from the spaghetti master himself. Next I’ll do chili base and I think ketchup might be a good gift for those wanting to eat cleaner?

Crossing a goal off the list. We entered our own produce in the county fair this year and even got a first place ribbon!

But the spotlight belongs to my sister, who won Best of Show with her jerky. So proud of you! ❤️🏆

Things are moving along at the farm. Selfishly I’m most excited for eggplant. We tested the peas 🫛 today 👌. Brussels sprouts and herbs are coming along and onions should be ready any day now. Can’t forget the squash, peppers and tomatoes 🍅 🤤
I’ll be learning canning in no time.

Game on! Just add trap checking and setting to the daily routine. 🦝

Fresh basil harvest, I’m thinking Basil butter is in order? What do you do with your fresh Basil?

Along with admiring the huge beautiful Lillie’s, I had a new friend tag along. 🐸

Where do we start? 🤔 There was a good rain. Strawberries are coming in. Radish harvest #2 is complete and these guys did not disappoint. We have an unwanted visitor🦝, but Edd’s on it. (Peter Peter pumpkin eater. And watermelon x7….)

I’m going to try cabbage in the greenhouse since it’s so hard to keep bugs from them. I’ll need that for dumplings and kraut this winter.

Neglecting the farm and garden for 3 days to enjoy the town celebration has us putting in some overtime this week. I had an accidental harvest while navigating through the jungle of weeds and the mow job was too much for the belly mower on the B, so enter the 656 with the shredder.
