We put it bluntly: every build has something go wrong. You open a wall and find old plumbing nobody planned for. The question is not whether it will happen. It is how your builder handles it.

Three checks before you sign with anyone. Ask about a project that did not go as planned and what they learned. See if they will challenge you on your plans, a Yes Man will cost you. Picture things going sideways at 7 AM and ask yourself who you want on that call.
