🚧 THROWBACK THURSDAY 🚧

Four generations of getting it done right. This week we’re looking back at our work on Ravine Road and Hardwick Road in New Braintree, MA, where J.L. Raymaakers & Sons served as general contractor for MassDOT on a 2.6 mile roadway reconstruction.

Our crews handled it all: full-depth pavement reclamation, new roadway base construction, drainage and culvert replacement, guardrail installation, and final paving in three courses.

Projects like this take precision, coordination, and heavy equipment know how, all things we’ve built our reputation on since day one.

Big movement out at Mansfield Municipal Airport. Our crew is deep into the Runway 14-32 Rehabilitation Project, and the transformation is showing. Full-depth reconstruction, taxiway improvements, underground drainage, and airfield lighting work are all coming together on an accelerated 90-day schedule, all while meeting strict FAA standards.

This is what serious progress looks like: excavation, grading, and paving happening in sync to rebuild critical airfield infrastructure the right way.

TBT: West Road Bridge Replacement, Alford, MA

This week’s throwback takes us to Alford, Massachusetts, where J.L. Raymaakers & Sons served as general contractor on the MassDOT West Road Bridge Replacement Project.

The scope: full demolition of the existing Bridge A-06-004, construction of a brand new structure over Scribner Brook, roadway reconstruction, drainage improvements, earthwork, utility coordination, guardrail installation, pavement, and final site restoration.

Protecting Scribner Brook throughout construction took careful planning and constant coordination. The result is a safer, more durable crossing built to improve traffic flow and drainage for years to come.

We’re looking for a skilled mechanic with experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and small engines. The right candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, take pride in their work, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a professional, team-oriented environment.
What we’re looking for:
🔹 Valid Driver’s License
🔹 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment and truck repair
🔹 Knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
🔹 Experience with construction equipment such as Volvo, CAT, Deere, Bobcat, or similar
🔹 Experience with trucks and trailers such as Ford, Chevy, International, Kenworth, or similar
🔹 Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
🔹 Hoisting License preferred
🔹 Welding and fabrication experience a plus
🔹 Ability to work independently and as part of a team
