We have not posted recently and have been working a lot with waterbase polyurethane on various wood types. The benefits with waterbase polyurethane is the odor is minamal and the drying time is much quicker. It can be walk on in just a few hours. We can also do multiple coats in a day. Which  we thought would be worth sharing. Our projects have included red oak, walnut, ash, and maple. Here is a floor we installed. The homeowner gave us free range to do whatever we wanted. We did what I call a “basket weave” around the fire place using some 2 1/4”white oak. We did the same in the front entry way and filled the middle with 4“ white oak that matched the rest of the house. In the middle of the job, I came up with an idea of adding an inlay, but the wood wouldn’t have arrived in time. So we improvised by staining the boards dark walnut . I felt like the entry way was a focal point and wanted it to stand out. I love when I have a vision in my head and I am able to turn it into a reality. Roger 413-564-9672

Here is a floor that I had the opportunity to design and make happen. I started with a 2 1/4 inch red oak border that went to a 1 inch walnut board. We then added a 4 inch red oak board to a 3/4 inch epay board back to a 2 1/4 inch red oak board to border the floor. Then we installed all 4 inch red oak in the middle. I’ve had this design in my head for awhile and the customer put trust in us to make it happen. We appreciate the trust and hope they enjoy it years to come. Rjsanding 413-564-9672 Roger

It’s been awhile since we last posted, so I figured I would share a job we finished up. Since this company is doing a great thing, we decided to help them out the best we could and donate our time and supplies. Empowered Kids is now open in Westfield and is a learning center for autistic kids. Thank you James Williams for giving us a hand and helping out with some of the environmentally safe water base polyurethane. We wanted to make sure the kids are safe with the products we used. So I’ve been very excited to share this post this one is something special I haven’t told many people about until we finished. This year I got an opportunity to teach the Westfield Vocational kids how to install a floor then sand and finish it.
