Progress shots of a butlers pantry in a home that no one thought would ever have a butlers pantry. We were initially hired to design a dining room and garage, but after an iterative design process and lots of conversation with our clients, we collectively landed on an entirely different solution than they'd originally had in mind. We look forward to sharing more about how the project evolved once the punch list is complete and we can photograph it for real. In the meantime, these unstaged phone pics still show expert craftsmanship.

These progress shots make it look so simple, right? Everything looks effortlessly aligned and perfect. What you don't see is the hours that , and spent *thinking it through* with us before ex*****on. Each material in each location, each tile joint, the condition in which two materials meet - it takes a team of smart, capable professionals to achieve such simple and elegant details. We're so grateful to Yonni and Dave for their craftsmanship and brainpower, and also to our clients for inviting us to be part of the process of reimagining their beautiful home.

We work with so many excellent small businesses, it was hard to name just a handful. In the few years since founding our design studio, we've been extremely fortunate to work with all wonderful visionary clients. The family that lives in this house was all in on color and moments of surprise. The color drenched minty play room speaks to the green kitchen from across the floor plan, with a whimsical - but not overpowering - wallpaper on the ceiling.

A crisp, white hall as background, punctuated by moody, dark doors...which open to reveal unexpected color within the bedrooms.
These clients were color visionaries! We carefully considered a cohesive palette for the whole house, allowing for plenty of colorful surprises throughout the different rooms.

Integral to our design philosophy is that it's always best to optimize space you already own before building more. Better for our clients' budgets and better for the planet.

These images show a still-in-progress transformation of a dark, awkward ranch entry to an open, light-filled home. While keeping within the existing footprint and envelope, the quality and utility of the space is entirely different.

Our client's goal was to make the basement fully habitable and comfortable, but there was no way to put windows there due to existing grades and patios. So we created a large opening in the first floor, demolished some labyrinthine walls, added a pair of windows, and refreshed the finish/color palette. These relatively modest interventions yield enormous benefit in daylight, functionality, and comfort for the homeowner's family (whom we adore).

Here it is January 10th and we're only now wishing you a very happy new year. We've spent less time on social media the last few months, and have been focused on projects... as well as trying to "live in the now" during the season of family gathering. We hope you had a joyful break and that 2023 is off to a promising start for you and yours!
