Did you know almost all Toronto neighbourhoods are allowed to develop laneway housing? This includes everything between Lake Ontario, the western boundary of Marie Curtis Park, Etobicoke Creek, Eglinton Avenue and Highway 427, Steeles Avenue, and the Rouge River and Scarborough-Pickering.
The neighbourhood known as Yorkville is excluded from allowing laneway house construction. This region is bounded by Bloor Street, Avenue, the CN Rail corridor, and Rosedale Valley/Yonge Street.

Want to know if you can build a laneway house on your Toronto property, how much the construction cost could be, and how much return on investment is? Check out our laneway house preliminary planning and costing tool at https://dencity.build (link in bio) 🏡

The tool doesn't supplant the expertise of professional consultants like architects, engineers, planners, contractors, banking representatives, etc. who you'll engage to fulfill a laneway house project. The platform is based off of open data and zoning code from the City of Toronto and as such, there may be variations between the City's data files and in situ measurements on your site.
