Last week, we wrapped up our Summer Internship Program!

Thank you, Grace, Jake, and Grace, for bringing so much energy to the office and for your dedication and hard work across multiple projects throughout the summer. The concepts developed for our two intern projects turned out great, and we’re so excited to see where these ideas go next. Also, there’s nothing like closing out another successful summer with our annual State Fair Day last Friday.

We wish all three of you the absolute best this fall back at Iowa State University!

On Tuesday, our project team for Weeks Middle School Classroom Addition attended the groundbreaking event! This project is part of the first construction phase connected to the Reimagining Education initiative of Des Moines Public Schools. The addition will provide 6 new classrooms and double as a storm shelter. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this a reality!

It’s intern season, and we’re excited to welcome our summer crew from Iowa State University’s Architecture Program!

From left to right: Grace Griffin just finished her third year, Grace Morhardt just finished her fourth year and is returning for her second summer with us, and Jake Tassin who also just completed his fourth year.

Even after just a few weeks, they’ve already jumped into projects and have become valuable members of our team. We have a packed house, the energy is high, and we’re looking forward to a great summer!

Curtis has been on the Editorial Board for Iowa Architect Magazine, AIA Iowa’s publication, since 2013 and has served as a Contributor, Associate Editor and now Editor. Curtis stepped into the Editor role and has taken ownership of all the responsibilities that are required to bring each issue to completion. His commitment to quality, both in the big picture and the finest details, is evident in everything he does.
