Mindy Trail, Vice President and Loan Officer at West Plains Bank and Trust Company will present info regarding the loan process and helping participants answer the question of “Can I afford it?” This is all part of the Southern Missouri Builders Association event for Homeowners/Home Buyers, and/or anyone considering housing decisions. This educational day is Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and lunch will be served. This day will include information from Builders, REALTORS, Financial and Utility Representatives highlighting the process from each standpoint and helping create a road map for individuals to better navigate the home buying and home ownership roads. Registration is FREE but we do as you register so we can get an accurate lunch count. This is your chance to make connections, learn about local resources and become better informed during this major life decision of homeownership.

This weekend, the West Plains Civic Center will host the 32nd Annual Southern Missouri Builder’s Association Home and Garden Show.

The Home and Garden Show is a two-day event, held Friday, March 1st from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and children (12 and younger) are free.

The Home and Garden Show is the longest running annual event held at the Civic Center. In fact, the Home and Garden Show was the first event held in the Civic Center in 1993.

“The Home and Garden Show is proud to be the longest running event to be held at the Civic Center,” said Southern Missouri Builder’s Association representative Myles Smith. “We are excited to host the 32nd annual show this year and we hope folks from West Plains and the surrounding area will come out and visit with the vendors.”

The Home and Garden Show is the place to be if you are currently doing or thinking about home improvements. The Home and Garden Show offers a wide variety of home building and improvement products and services on display from 76 vendors from around the Ozarks.
