⚡ TRIPPED GFI? HERE’S HOW TO RESET IT!
If an outlet suddenly stops working, especially after rain or a storm, your GFI/GFCI may have tripped.
Here’s a quick guide for Palm Beach County homeowners:
1️⃣ Find the GFI
Look for an outlet with the “TEST” and “RESET” buttons.
2️⃣ Unplug what’s connected
Unplug appliances or devices from the outlet and check for any obvious moisture.
3️⃣ Press RESET
Push the RESET button firmly until it clicks and stays in.
4️⃣ Test it
Press TEST. The power should shut off. Then press RESET again to restore power.
5️⃣ Still won’t reset?
Don’t keep forcing it. A GFI that won’t reset could indicate a wiring issue, moisture, or a problem with the receptacle. It’s time to call a qualified electrician.
💡 PRO TIP: GFCIs should be tested regularly to make sure they are providing the protection they’re designed to provide.
