Your patio is only as good as what’s under it.
Most pavers don’t fail at the surface. They fail underneath. When you see dips, ruts and pavers that won’t stay level, the problem is almost always a thin base and too much sand.
Here’s how every Beast Coast install is built, from the ground up:
🔸 Compacted subgrade, graded for drainage
🔸 Geotextile fabric so soft Florida sand can’t creep into the base
🔸 Crushed aggregate base, compacted in lifts. 4–6″ for patios and walks, 6–8″ for driveways.
🔸 1″ MAX of screeded bedding sand, never more
🔸 60 mm pavers, locked in with an edge restraint and polymeric sand
Why 1″ max? Sand is for leveling, not support. A lot of crews dump 2–3″ of sand to cover a lazy base. It looks fine on install day. Then it shifts, settles and dips after Florida’s first rainy season.
We put the work where you’ll never see it, so you never have to think about it again.
Built to ICPI standards. Built for South Florida. Built Different. Done Right.
