Broadband history!

Louisiana keeps making history — Coushatta is now the first community in the nation to receive BEAD fiber internet service, and SkyRider is the first provider in the nation to begin BEAD fiber construction!

Both milestones were achieved by Louisiana-based companies, with Pelican Broadband connecting Coushatta’s first BEAD fiber customers and SkyRider actively constructing fiber infrastructure across northern Louisiana.

EPC enjoyed coming together in Ruston today with Governor Jeff Landry, ConnectLA Executive Director Veneeth Iyengar, ULM Warhawks President Dr. Carrie Castille, and community partners to highlight the impact BEAD is having across rural Louisiana.

EPC’s Josh Etheridge joined SkyRider CEO Brad Warden to celebrate that progress. We’re grateful for Brad’s commitment to connecting rural communities and honored he trusted EPC with this build, putting local teams to work building local networks.

Thank you to our team for the hard work and care you put into bringing connectivity to our neighbors every day!

What would change if every decision in your next project was connected from day one?

When broadband and utility projects fall behind schedule or exceed their budgets, the conversation often centers on construction. Stakeholders look at labor shortages, permitting delays, material costs, or unforeseen field conditions to explain what went wrong.
