PSS! Come here, let me tell you about your garage door springs.
Now the I have your attention. Lets get this class started. We have several different springs (black coils above the garage door. Torquemaster system is silver tube above the garage door). We have single car garage double car garage, insulated, non-insulated, window/Full View, and we could add more. Put for class purposes let's use this.

Why do we have one spring, two springs, and four springs? It's all to get that door up, balance, strength, and what headache you're willing to deal with in an emergency.

Example: the glass door Full View the customer spring broke after two years of being installed (another garage door company, ugh). They were trapped, weren't happy, needed to get to appointments, and scheduled events. So we provided them options. Since this is a heavy door we informed them of going from two springs to four so they could still get out, in addition longer life (since theirs lasted two years), we installed 4 springs at 100k cycles each. That is a long life though this is specifically fits this customers needs, reduces headache, and in the long run cost. Based on their current rate if they just did the normal base on what is currently installed they would have paid for the upgraded springs in 6yrs and only last 8yrs. Where our springs will last them 15years based on their current cycle to spring equation. Ugh, math. Basically the customers is extatic and that has been 6 years ago and going strong.

When it comes to wood doors. They had square nuts back in the day. Think about the forarms the installers had, no power tools, just wrench, forarm, and grit.

Also, if you look at the top left side the black coil, that is a stretch spring. If you have one of these get it replaced or safety cable installed at minimum on it. These are extremely dangerious and can kill or hurt you or a family member.

CHECKOUT THE TRANSFORMATION

The Wicked Team dominated once again. Initial visit was for a broken spring though Sarah was debating on replacing the door instead of the repair. Bo discussed options of design, color, and brand of door once they had it narrowed in Kat took over. She fined tuned each area providing additional information and guiadance. Kat handed off the rest to Karson and Dave and they crafted the install, care, and package.

Bringing you thise amazing before and after shot of Sarah's home. She is overly extatic about the finish. Brings all the colors together while that blue of the siding brings out the wood colors of the door creating a pop. Then the frosted windows allowing for privacy but sunlight to flood the space. The inside is just as clean, smooth, seemless, and being white brings life to the garage.

Don't let me forget about the package of the door an opener. The opener is a Liftmaster 6690L and is combined with a steel back door, 100k Precision Bearing Rollers creates a masterpiece of soft minimal rolling. This opener makes it look effortless for how heavy the door. Because what is the point of the beauty of the door if its loud while running.

Did you know we were at the Rodeo? Justin Olney was the first winner we delivered too. We set up a Wicked Raffle for the attendies at the Bluffdale Rodeo so we are starting to deliver to them and install. Thank you all who participated and we appreciate the support we had.

We posted why have a side mount opener installed. You may have noticed these two side mounts are different from one another. The main point of why they are different is the power that comes with them. The left side of the operator is design for the max: weight door of 850lbs, Width 18ft, and Height 14ft. Now lets take a glance at the Right side mount opener. The right door is max: weight is 1100lbs, Width 18ft, and Height 14ft.

These specs are there for a reason and we see estimates provided by other garage door companies going outside of these specs. This a really expensive repair for a customer to have within a short period of time of owning your brand new garage door and opener.

LETS TALK...seriously.

When it comes to cost effective doors and the quality of parts on them. This customer had a single spring on their double car garage. The standard practice is to have two springs installed. This creates better cycle of the door, reduces stress on the operator, and most importantly doesn't leave you trapped.

Incase of an emergency if you had two springs on your double car garage door and the spring broke, and had an emergency you could still get out using a technique. However, if you only had one spring on it...you would be trapped inside.

If you have one spring on your double car garage door and its older, I would consider replacing it. You can determine how long you've lived there how long the springs been installed and if you're pushing 4-6yrs consider replacing it with two.

Congrats to Clay in Holladay. Clay reached out to us asking we could help him with his sitution. Wanted similar look of his wood door though appropriate for the building.

Bo dove into options fine tuning the direction the customer was leading him. Kat, created touched up and sent the estimate providing details options and Clay decided on this option.

We think it was perfect fit that brightens the building and brings life to outside. With fresh new curb appeal and crisp lines. Combined with a 2220L is perfect end to this package. Not to much but just enough for what Clay and his family needed.
