Misfit has closed. Located on Santa Monica Boulevard near 3rd Street Promenade, they were a solid go-to staple for locals and tourists alike since 2011. We spent many late night hours doing repairs, maintenance, and general updating since the beginning and are grateful for that opportunity.
We do not have specific details but suspect that building ownership, Private Equity firms, and Santa Monica City politicians have really lost sight of what's good for Santa Monica in lieu of short term profits. The loss of Misfit is simply the latest signal of their incompetence - whoever "they" are. Misfit held on through thick and thin despite continued drop in foot traffic through 3rd Street. Now they are gone.
Our time with Misfit was always positive. Night crews, opening crews, and interactions with management was always positive and upbeat. They were specific about their needs and prompt with payments. We made several special trips to Misfit with company in town for lunch and dinner.
