🏠 COMMON BUILDING QUESTION: How long does it take to build a new home?
One of the first questions we get from people thinking about building is, “How long will it take?”
The answer is: it depends on the home, but typically a normal build will run from 4-7 months with more custom builds reaching to to 7-9 months.
The size and complexity of the home, material availability, inspections, selections, and changes made during construction can all affect the timeline.
Weather can also play a major role. Rain, snow, extreme cold, and other conditions can impact certain phases of construction and occasionally cause delays.
One thing we’ve learned over the years is that a successful build starts with good planning. Having plans finalized and selections made on time helps keep the process moving and avoids unnecessary delays once construction begins.
At Platinum Homes, we work with you from the initial design through the final details, keeping you informed throughout the process as your home goes from plans to reality.
