Things I wish I had realized long ago:

* Everyone is making it up as they go. No one has life figured out, some are just better at improvising than others.

* Relationships are hard. Even the best marriages and friendships have their struggles.

* No one starts as an expert. The people who look like they were born naturally talented, are the ones who put in the most work and time to learn the skills they need to succeed.

* What you put in, is what you get out.

* Chances are, you're the only one who thinks you suck at anything you try. Most people won't notice, some will be jealous, and a few will cheer you on. Stop talking yourself out of living just to please others who are too busy focusing on their own problems.

* There ain't one family that isn't screwed up. Nor is there a single person on Earth who isn't a hot mess at any given time. Stop being so hard on yourself and others.

* Don't be afraid to ask for help.

* Prayers work. Miracles happen. But also, sometimes they don't. Don't stop believing.

* Love is always worth the risk of heartache.

* If God puts it in your heart, don't ignore it.
