Long days, hot temperatures, insects, and disease pressure can all take a toll on your landscape this time of year. Keep an eye out for these warning signs:

🍂 Wilting or discolored leaves
🍂 Early leaf drop
🐞 Insect activity and pest damage
🌳 Thin or sparse canopies
🍃 Sticky, curled, or undersized leaves

Storm response in action! 🚨 This week in Evanston, our Production Team utilized a crane and tracked lift to safely remove a 36” box elder and a large storm-damaged limb that had fallen onto a historic home.

This morning, our team gathered for our bi-monthly company meeting to share updates, celebrate successes, and stay focused on our vision!

We heard department updates from Alan (Sales), Jeremy (Production), and Ben (PHC), helping keep our entire team aligned and working toward the same goals.

We also took time to recognize two outstanding team members:
👏 Tim, Senior Sales Arborist, for his contributions to the team. Fun fact: Tim has been with KTS for 25 years!
👏 Maribel, Office Assistant, for her dedication to accounts receivable and helping our mulch customers at the front window.

This week’s storms were a good reminder of how quickly summer weather can change here in the Midwest. With strong winds they can put a lot of stress on branches and entire trees, leading to damage in a matter of minutes. ⛈️🌳

If you’re cleaning up after the storm:
👉 Watch for downed power lines and hanging branches.
👉 Wear proper PPE and take your time.
👉 If something doesn’t look safe, call a professional.

Our KTS crew showed up strong, with the lunch team keeping the grills fired up all day 🍔🌭🔥 and a special shoutout to Diego and Abraham for stepping up and competing in the climbing events! 💪🌲

Yesterday morning, Zeppy and Kelsey were out at Reed-Keppler Park representing KTS and meeting lots of great families from the community. This is one of our favorite events of the year, right in our backyard! 🚛🌳

A big thank you to the West Chicago Park District, City of West Chicago Government and the West Chicago Police Department for hosting another great event. We always look forward to this one!

Our crane crew recently tackled the removal of a massive 40” Catalpa in Carol Stream after invasive roots began lifting the client’s driveway ahead of a planned replacement.

With precision, experience, and the right equipment, Kenny, Juan Y., Bulmaro, and Willie safely dismantled and removed the tree, making way for the next phase of the property’s improvement.

Outstanding work by the crew and thank you to our wonderful clients for trusting us with the job! 💪🌲
