From a pile of lumber to Some creativity arrangements glued and clamped to waiting to be flattened in the drum sander then headed off for final shaping and trimming before heading back to the sanding table where they will be sanded with 9 different grits of sand paper.... then ship to the finishing room for there oil and wax bath...... the day in the life of a cutting board guy 😎

In case you wanted to know or even if you didn’t 🤣…im going to tell you any way 🤪!!

Our number one sales (in volume) is our cheese slicers. We do not just make one at a time….we batch out at least 55 at one time.

This is what it takes to accomplish the build:
Approx. 556 pieces of mixed domestic and exotic strips of lumber witch can range from 1/8 inch to 1 inch. They get sliced to 11” long and ran through drum sander(squaring them up)

Its approx. 26 total board ft.

It takes approx. ½ gallon of glue …give or take….

It takes approx. ¾ of a gallon of food safe oil…. Give or take

Now for the sanding….I will make this short theres lot and lots of sanding, However what you don’t realize is the board(s) are flipped front to back side to side top and bottom 6 times with 9 different grits of sand paper…that’s 54 movements to sand 1 board for 55 its 2970 …. Bet you didn’t know that 🤪.

Each board get a slice cut out for the wire to fall…..of coarse 55 slices.

Each board get a slicing arm with the boars(s) need a hole drilled 3 7/8 deep on the side of the board…of coarse 55 holes. Then you add 55 slicing wires……. Are you all getting this yet…😂!!!!!

Each board gets non marring rubber ft. qty per board 4
Now we predrill holes for the feet (so no tear out)…… 220 holes
And of coarse install with stainless steel screws 220 rubber feet.

Now aren’t you glad you read all this nonsense😎…… Theres a lot of work that goes on that no one even think about when it come to Hand crafted items….our goal is to make you go WOW!!!!
