I just heard that raised beds are the #1 investment new homeowners are making in their spaces... can you believe that?

Do your own research, ask around, and ask yourself: have you considered adding a raised bed or two to your space?

Infrastructure that supports growing food and building resilience in the backyard seems like an excellent investment to me. From food quality to interaction with healthy soils, creating a space that you can engage with will give back tenfold.

Teach a man (or woman) to fish, as they say.

Considering a raised bed, arbor, pergola, or garden fence in 2027? Reach out now - our woodshop will be running this winter, get your orders in now. 😊

Invasive alert! ⚠️

Now is the time to think about invasive management!
For perennial and woody plants, their energy is moving to their roots. That means that for invasive plants, now is the time to treat them with an herbicide.

I know I know, "aren't you guys all organic?" Yes, yes we are.

AND invasive plants are a huge issue that we need to address in spaces we want to preserve or cultivate as ecosystem for native species.

Herbicide on our food and broadcast on our soils: non-starter.
Herbicide spot application on problematic species: sounds reasonable.

It's a complicated issue, and I'm sure we will host a lively discussion one day on all the competing ideas and approaches to mitigating/incorporating invasives into our ecosystems.

That said, if you choose to take the herbicide approach, now is the time.
If you want to manage them through mechanical means (pulling) inquire about that now too!

We are booking winter invasive management and brush clearing visits now.

Reclaim a little space and support your native species through acknowledgement and management of invasive overgrowth.

Reach out to schedule your management visits!

'tis the season! ✨ To start your landscape design ✨

Winter is the season for planning.

From small pollinator gardens to large landscape transformations, design is a critical part of the process. A well-designed landscape is the difference between a high-maintenance space that only flowers in the spring and a low-maintenance landscape that evolves with the seasons, offering interest and habitat from January to January.

Don't skip this step! Reach out now to see your ideas come to life in 2027!

What does self reflection have to do with saving the planet? More than you might think. 🌱

In Episode 4 of Realizing Resilience, Nate digs into the values behind Reimagined Roots and why resilience starts with understanding what we value, how we live, and the systems we choose to participate in.

From food systems and permaculture to ecological stewardship and purposeful living, this conversation explores what it actually means to build stronger people, communities, and landscapes.

🎙️ The Surprising Truth About Self Reflection, Core Values, and Their Role in Saving the Planet

Your property is one small piece of a much bigger ecosystem. What you do with it matters. 🌱

Take a closer look at what ecological land care actually looks like in practice, from rebuilding living soil and planting natives, to creating lower maintenance lawns and landscapes› that work with nature instead of constantly fighting it.

The best part? You don't need acres of land OR a complete landscape overhaul to make a difference. Start with your soil. Add a few native plants. Rethink a piece of lawn. Small changes add up.

We're grateful to the Worcester County Conservation District for putting together and sharing this resource, and to our colleagues keeping ecological land care moving forward. 🌿

Start small. Learn how your land works. Build from there.
