🌿🌸 BEGONIA LOVERS, YOU ARE IN FOR A TREAT! 🌸🌿

😍 Today, while visiting the USF Botanical Gardens Fall Plant Festival, I had the pleasure of stopping by Mid-Florida Begonias to visit with the lovely Michelle James!

🌺 Michelle and her partner in crime, Ariel, are actually the reason I started collecting begonias! 😂❤️ And if you could see their incredible selection of these gorgeous plants, you would understand why!

🌿 From spectacular foliage with intricate patterns and stunning colors to beautiful flowering varieties, begonias offer so much diversity! Some have shimmering silver leaves, others feature dramatic spirals, polka dots, bold textures, and vibrant shades of black, pink, red, purple, and green. They truly are living works of art! 🎨🍃

❤️ Michelle and Ariel also maintain the beautiful begonia collection at the USF Botanical Gardens, and I always enjoy walking through and admiring their incredible work. Their passion for these plants certainly shows!

🪴 Mid-Florida Begonias has a wonderful selection available for purchase at this weekend’s plant festival, so if you’re attending, be sure to stop by, say hello, and admire their gorgeous begonias!

📍 USF Botanical Gardens Fall Plant Festival
📅 Saturday & Sunday, October 10–11
⏰ 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM BOTH DAYS!

🌸 Whether you’re already a begonia collector or simply curious about these fascinating plants, this is a wonderful opportunity to discover something special!

😂 And considering Michelle and Ariel are responsible for my begonia addiction, I probably shouldn’t spend too much time at their booth. We all know how that ends! 🛒🌿🤣 5 more begonias later…..

💚 QUESTION: Do you grow begonias? If so, are you more attracted to their spectacular foliage or their beautiful flowers?

🌺🌿 JUST TWO PLANT LOVERS HEADING INTO PARADISE! 🌿🌺🤣

🪴 Will we leave empty-handed? THAT is the question! 😂

Today, Florida Plant Daddy (my husband, Chris ❤️) and I are visiting the University of South Florida Botanical Gardens Plant Festival! 🌴🌸🌿

💚 USF is my alma mater, and this wonderful plant festival has been one of my favorite gardening traditions for over 30 YEARS! 🥰

🌺 Held twice a year, in April and October, this event brings together plant enthusiasts, growers, and vendors with an incredible selection of tropical plants, flowering beauties, fruit trees, and unusual botanical treasures! 🌳🌷

📣🌿 ATTENTION, TAMPA BAY PLANT LOVERS! 🌿📣

There’s still time to come out and enjoy this wonderful event!

📅 Saturday, October 10 & Sunday, October 11, 2026

⏰ 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM BOTH DAYS!

📍 USF Botanical Gardens, Tampa, Florida

🌴 Come support the botanical gardens and the wonderful plant vendors while discovering some beautiful additions for your own garden! 💚

Now, before we walked through the entrance, I made a little announcement to Florida Plant Daddy…

🗣️ “I’m NOT buying any more plants!” 🤣🤣🤣

After more than 50 years of gardening, you’d think I’d have enough plants by now, wouldn’t you? 😭🪴

😂 SO HERE’S MY QUESTION FOR YOU…

🌿 DO YOU BELIEVE ME?! 🌿

👇 Tell me in the comments! And stay tuned to see what botanical treasures we discover today! 🌺💚

🌱 FLORIDA GARDEN JULES: HYDROPONIC VEGETABLE SEEDLING UPDATE! 🥦🥬✨

It’s been almost two weeks since I planted six different types of vegetables in my AeroGarden units, and the seedlings are off to a wonderful start! 🌿

💜 PURPLE SPROUTING BROCCOLI has germinated phenomenally, along with the GEORGIA GREENS, SNOWBALL CAULIFLOWER, MAGENTA LETTUCE, and BUTTERCRUNCH LETTUCE. Everything is growing beautifully so far! 🤩

Unfortunately, the WASABI ARUGULA did not germinate at all, so I’m replacing it with SLOW-BOLT ARUGULA seeds and hoping for better results this time. 🌱

🔍 A LITTLE SEEDLING IDENTIFICATION TIP:

At this stage, the purple sprouting broccoli, snowball cauliflower, and Georgia greens all look remarkably similar. That’s because they’re all brassicas, or members of the Brassicaceae family. 🥦

Since these seedlings can be difficult to tell apart when they’re young, I keep a chart labeling everything in each AeroGarden unit. That way, I won’t confuse them when it’s time to transplant them into the garden—and I’ll know exactly where each variety belongs! 🏡🌱

I’m excited to watch these little seedlings continue developing and eventually make their way into the Florida garden. There’s nothing quite like growing fresh vegetables from seed! 💚

Thank you to AeroGarden for making it so easy to get a head start on growing fresh vegetables indoors! Be sure to visit and follow the official AeroGarden page: . 🌱✨

Have you started any vegetable seeds yet? What are you growing this season? 🌿

🌸 Happy gardening from Florida Garden JULES! 🌸

🌿 STRESSED PLANTS? HERE’S WHAT I DID! 🌿

In this video, I’m sharing how I helped four stressed fruit trees begin their recovery using FoxFarm’s Bush Doctor Boomerang Comeback Formula. 🌱

Each tree was struggling for a different reason:

🍎 Two loquat trees were stressed from receiving too much water during the heavy rain we’ve been having.

🌳 The Painter cherilata was the tree that fell over and was left baking in the sun without water during the dry periods between storms.

🌱 The star apple tree was already extremely unhealthy and in the process of dying when I purchased it for $5, although I wasn’t sure exactly what had caused its stress.

I explain what I did for each tree and how I used FoxFarm’s product to support their recovery. I also show the progress of two of them:

🍏 The star apple tree has completely revived and is now producing healthy green foliage! This tree was in serious need of help when I purchased it, so I’m especially excited to see it bouncing back.

🍒 The Painter cherilata is showing signs of new growth after falling over and being exposed to intense sun and dry conditions, which is an encouraging step in its recovery.

🧡The two loquat trees are just beginning their recovery after being overwhelmed by too much water, so I’ll continue watching them closely and sharing their progress. 🌿

Sometimes rescuing a stressed tree takes more than one treatment. It takes careful observation, patience, proper watering, and consistent care. In this video, I’m sharing what I’m doing to help all four trees recover and what I’ll be watching for as they continue to heal. 💚

Every stressed plant has a story, and recovery takes patience, observation, and the right care. I hope this video helps if you’re dealing with stressed plants or trees in your own garden!

Have you ever helped rescue a struggling plant or tree? Tell me what worked for you in the comments! 👇

🍌🌴 Going BANANAS in Our Florida Food Forest! 🌴🍌

Today, we’re taking you on a banana plant tour with none other than my husband, Chris, affectionately known as Florida Plant Daddy! 💚👨‍🌾

Chris is showing us the different banana varieties we’re growing here at Florida Garden Jules, from the more common favorites to some unique and unusual varieties that you don’t see in every backyard garden! 🍌🌿

Since establishing our tropical food forest, our banana plants have been absolutely THRIVING! Between the nutrient-rich growing environment and all the wonderful rain we’ve been receiving, these tropical beauties are loving life! 🌧️☀️

💚 Did you know? Banana plants are actually giant herbaceous flowering perennials, not trees! We accidentally called them trees in our last video and received some not so subtle backlash 😂 Their enormous leaves give our food forest that lush, tropical appearance, and they LOVE warmth, moisture, rich soil, and plenty of nutrients.

One of the things I enjoy most about creating our food forest is watching how quickly everything grows and transforms into a tropical paradise right in our own backyard! 🌴

🍌 Now I have a question for you! Are you growing bananas in your garden? If so, which varieties? And do you collect the unusual ones like Florida Plant Daddy does? 😂

We’d love to hear what you’re growing!
