a large Midwest gas company improperly replaced thermometers in thousands of homes. This led to the release of mercury, a highly toxic metal in the majority of these properties. Our management group was one of the first responders on the scene to assist with the decontamination of these dwellings. Following the normal procedures of removing the physical mercury, decontaminating the affected areas and discarding all contaminated debris, it was discovered the mercury contamination had adhered to the dust buildup within the HVAC systems of the affected homes. ABB Management Group's team formed an air duct cleaning task force to address this issue, which led to EPA approved levels of indoor air quality allowing the occupants to return to the home.
