Throwback Thursday | Columbia Valley Community Health
📍 Chelan, WA

The CVCH Chelan Clinic remains one of our favorite projects to share. Originally designed as a 17,500 square foot healthcare facility, the clinic later underwent a 5,000 square foot expansion to accommodate growing patient needs!

The expansion brought additional medical spaces, an expanded laboratory and a new pharmacy, all thoughtfully integrated into the existing building.

The result? A facility designed to serve twice as many patients while continuing to support the Chelan community for years to come. 👏👏👏

Washington’s 2024 code adoption process is moving forward.

The Washington State Building Code Council has filed CR 102 for the 2024 Washington State Energy Codes, with final adoption currently targeted for November 20, 2026.

The International Building Code, Residential Code, Mechanical Code, Fire Code and Uniform Plumbing Code are further along in the process, with final adoption targeted for October 16, 2026.

The Wildland Urban Interface Code amendments remain reserved while statewide wildfire risk and hazard mapping is completed.

The biggest date to keep on your radar:
The 2024 codes are scheduled to take effect May 3, 2027.

We’ll continue following the adoption process and sharing updates as implementation gets closer.

For the full timeline, visit the Washington State Building Code Council’s 2024 Code Adoption Schedule.

Happy World Architecture Day!

Good architecture is about more than buildings. It’s about building community.

The places where we work, gather, learn and live shape how we experience the world around us. Thoughtful design creates spaces that serve people well, today and for years to come.

We’re proud to be part of that work.

Happy Monday! | Halloween Edition: Part 1!

Some buildings come with a little more history than others...

Charleville Castle in County Offaly, Ireland, is a striking example of Gothic Revival architecture. Designed by architect Francis Johnston, construction began around the turn of the 19th century, with the castle taking shape through the early 1800s.

Pointed details, dramatic forms and the surrounding forest give it plenty of Gothic atmosphere, but its architecture isn't the only reason Charleville has earned attention.

The castle has developed a reputation as one of Europe's most haunted, with stories of paranormal activity becoming part of its modern lore.

Historic architecture with a haunted reputation? We couldn't pass this one up for October.

☕ Iconic Architecture Monday is getting caffeinated!

In honor of National Coffee Day tomorrow, this week’s feature takes us to Budapest, Hungary, for a look at the New York Palace and its famous New York Café.

Opened in 1894, the Belle Époque building was designed by Alajos Hauszmann alongside Flóris Korb and Kálmán Giergl. Its elaborate façade is filled with sculptural details and ornamentation, while inside, the architecture continues with the richly detailed New York Café.

The café became a longtime gathering place for Hungarian writers and poets, making the building as much a part of Budapest’s cultural history as its architectural one.

More than 130 years later, it’s still a pretty incredible place to grab a cup. ☕️
