💨 A small duct sealing issue can waste a lot of conditioned air.

We were up in this attic sealing ductwork when something felt a little too cool — and sure enough, we found a section that had only been partially sealed.

There had been an existing duct that was rerouted, and part of the connection was left exposed.

So we got it taken care of properly:

✅ Taped the connection
✅ Applied mastic sealant
✅ Sealed the area to help stop air leakage

It may have been missed before, but when we find something that needs attention, we take care of it.

🏠 Another home that just wasn’t cooling like it should.

This homeowner called Lone Star Insulation because the house wouldn’t cool below 80°F, and they were also dealing with humidity issues.

We came out to perform an assessment and quickly found several problems.

One wall cavity had no spray foam or caulking, allowing hot outside air to enter the home. We also inspected the roof deck and found inconsistent spray foam coverage — including an area measuring only around 3 inches thick.

These are the kinds of problems that can make a home uncomfortable and force the HVAC system to work harder.

Proper insulation is more than simply applying foam. Good air sealing, proper thickness, and consistent installation all play an important role in how a home performs.

🏠 The customer called us because their home wasn’t cooling properly — and we found a problem they didn’t know they had.

We were originally there to add additional insulation, but during our inspection we noticed the plenum box had come open where the old duct tape had completely degraded and failed.

💨 That meant conditioned air was rushing straight into the attic instead of going where it was supposed to go.
