It's downright chilly this morning! Unfortunately, this angel I was working on yesterday broke a wing. It really sucks when you're almost finished, and something breaks. Alas, I'll just have to set it aside and fix it later. The only true fix would be to remove the back, replace with new wood, and recarve it.

Took some fresh pics out in the sunlight this morning. Tried to get video, but the clouds kept blocking the sun lol. This horse bust will be going to the Yellowsnake Horses Brazos River Ranch next month as an installation for photo ops along with signage explaining the long history of their ranch. Go check em out and take a guided horseback ride along the Brazos riverbank!

Quick update on the horse. Still lots of shaping and detail to do, but I had to slow down and give the wood time to crack so I can make all the necessary repairs before the final detailing. I swear I've put more time into studying reference pictures and horse anatomy than actually carving on this one lol. That's how it goes, though. I want make sure it's anatomically correct by the time I'm finished with it.

It's the little things that count. A rough out on the ear, and a practice run on the eye. Used that to find the adjustments I need to make for the eyes before I detail them. Also, I met with the organizer for the York Avenue Market, and it's official. I'll doing a Live Show there on November 14th! Mark your calendars!
