With freezing temperatures expected please take precautions, to make sure your equipment is protected. We recommend that you keep skimmers cleaned out, so water flows freely. Mulching the leaves in your yard prior can help reduce your workload during the freeze. Make sure your water level is up. Check that freeze protection is working properly (make sure that the pool is running if the temperature drops below 38 degrees) or turn the pool on manually, and keep it running during freezing weather. Most importantly.... COVER YOUR EQUIPMENT!!!! You can order a small car cover, golf cart cover, or tarp on amazon (make sure its waterproof) , size depends on the size of your equipment, but you want ALL of it covered. The freezing wind on exposed equipment is what will be most dangerous. Therefore, it's important to keep it covered. The heat from the equipment running will keep everything warm under the cover. We are not expecting loss of power, but if you feel more comfortable shutting down equipment, you may do that as well. Remember it has been warm and this will be a short weather event. But most importantly, we CAN NOT stop Mother Nature....we can only do our best to protect our investments.

With the high winds expected the pools may require being skimmed and baskets may need to be emptied multiple times per day (mulching the leaves in your yard prior can help reduce your workload during the freeze). Clogged skimmers and low water levels can cause pumps to burn up and or slow flowing water to freeze which will bust pipes.
if the power happens to go out, or you decide to turn your pool off please follow these steps to help protect your pool.
1. Turn off breakers to pool equipment.
2. Open air relief valve and drain filter.
3. Open pool pump lids, remove drain plugs, and drain water.
4. Drain heater, unscrew unions, and store drain plugs.
5. For chlorinators, remove drain plug or unscrew unions; store them.
6. Turn off auto-fill line.
7. Open check valve lids, and store them out of the weather.
8. Keep all drain plugs in pool pump basket.
9. Wrap equipment in a tarp or blanket.
10. Remember to monitor equipment throughout the winter weather.
