The forecast for the end of the week is looking hot and sticky. When the humidity gets this high, everything feels heavier—including the workload on your home’s air conditioner.

Before the peak heat hits, we wanted to share a quick PSA so you can keep your cool (and keep your AC running smoothly).

When outdoor temperatures surge past normal limits, it’s completely standard for your AC to run all day long just to hold the line. If you notice your indoor temperature creeping up a few degrees above your usual setting, don't panic! If the air coming out of your vents is still cold, your system hasn't failed—it's just working at maximum capacity against extreme conditions.

How you can help your AC out this week:
1️⃣ Check that air filter: Give your unit maximum airflow by putting in a fresh, clean filter before the heat wave peaks. A clogged filter restricts airflow and forces the system to work twice as hard.
2️⃣ Trap the cool air: Keep your blinds and curtains shut during the day to block out the blazing sun.
3️⃣ Don't babysit the thermostat: Constantly moving the temperature up and down makes the system work harder. Find a comfortable spot and let it ride.
4️⃣ Wait for sundown: Your home will naturally cool back down to your target temp once the outdoor temperature drops overnight.

Most homes have carbon monoxide detectors, but many people don’t realize how limited the traditional ones actually are.

Standard residential CO detectors are designed to meet safety codes, not to warn you at the earliest signs of danger. Most of these detectors will NOT sound an alarm until carbon monoxide reaches 70 PPM and remains there for 60–240 minutes. That means dangerous levels of CO can be present in your home for hours before the alarm ever goes off.

Even lower levels of carbon monoxide can cause symptoms like headaches, dizziness, nausea, and fatigue. Prolonged exposure can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning, and higher levels can quickly become life-threatening.

For better protection, consider upgrading to a low-level carbon monoxide monitor that actually displays the CO levels in your home. These devices alert you to rising CO levels long before they reach the threshold of a standard detector, giving you time to react before it becomes dangerous.

As an HVAC company, we strongly recommend homes with fuel-burning equipment (furnaces, boilers, water heaters, fireplaces, or generators) have a carbon monoxide monitor that displays real-time levels, not just a basic alarm.

Carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless, and impossible to detect without the right equipment. Protect your family with the right detector — not just the minimum required one.

If you have questions about carbon monoxide safety or your heating system, feel free to reach out.

🌷 Spring isn’t far away! That means warmer days are coming — and now is the perfect time to get ahead of the rush and schedule your A/C cleaning for May or June.
Regular maintenance on your central air system and mini-splits makes a big difference:
✅ Improved efficiency (lower electric bills)
✅ Better cooling performance
✅ Cleaner, healthier air
✅ Fewer unexpected breakdowns
✅ Longer system lifespan
Over the winter, dust, debris, and buildup collect inside your system. A professional cleaning ensures your equipment is ready to run at peak performance before the summer heat hits.
Don’t wait until the first 85° day to find out your system isn’t ready! ☀️
