It’s one of the questions we hear the most.
The truth? We at OE are booked out at a 12-16 weeks minimum. PLUS- Construction starts long before the first board is ever installed.
Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes after you sign your contract:
📐 Design & Final Plans
We finalize measurements, selections, and create the construction drawings for your project.
🏗️ Engineering
If your project requires structural engineering, those plans are reviewed and stamped to ensure everything is built safely and to code.
📋 Permits
Permit applications are submitted to your local municipality. Every city, township, and county has different timelines, and unfortunately we can’t control how quickly they’re processed.
🛠️ Ordering Materials
Your decking, railing, lighting, hardware, and specialty products are ordered. Many premium products aren’t sitting on a shelf—they’re manufactured specifically for your project.
📅 Scheduling Crews
Your project is added to our production calendar. We coordinate demolition, framing, inspections, electricians, concrete crews, and finishing trades so each step happens in the right order.
🔍 Preparing for Build Day
Before we ever arrive, we’re making sure everything is ready so your project can move as efficiently as possible once construction begins.
We know waiting isn’t always fun.
But we’d rather spend the time planning your project correctly than rushing into construction unprepared.
At OE Decks, our typical production schedule is 12–16 weeks from contract signing to project commencement. That timeline allows us to properly design, permit, order materials, and schedule your project the right way.
Great decks aren’t just built with great craftsmanship.
They’re built with great planning.
