Local means everything!
The other day, I had a closing. When I stopped in later to see how everything was going with moving, this local appliance delivery truck was there.
This home was built by Sweeney Builders, a local construction- builder, as a spec home.
While there, we had a quick question in an electrical item. That local company called me back quickly to respond to the question.
This reminded me how much the local economy is positively affected when someone takes the risk to open and run a business in a small town or rural area. This one spec home positively affected the local economy in many ways!
For example, contractors who worked at or on the house: a roofing company, a plumbing and heating company, a surveyor, a flooring company, a local lumber company for materials, and me, at a local real estate company.
After the sale, a furniture store, an appliance company, a local thrift store for some furnishings(who will go on to donate to the community needs), and more that I may have missed.
Our real estate company was able to pay for local newspaper ads and other local and online marketing before and after the closing, closing gifts, which were all purchased locally, and pay other costs. From there, I was able to pay my family's monthly mortgage payment, pay a local farmer for meat we committed to purchasing, which gave that person the ability to use the money locally to pay his daily living and farming/occupational costs.
So when you think about it, it is more than a house sitting on a lot, it is making a difference in the local economy, affecting many people, in various ways!

I know it was exhausting for you, however, we hope there are more in the future. Our community needs quality built homes for future generations!
