Basement flooding can escalate fast—this homeowner in Zion experienced 4–5 inches of water after heavy rain despite having an existing pump system. Our inspection revealed a tripped GFI, a failed backup battery, and continuous water intrusion, along with a water heater that had been submerged. We’re recommending a new sump pump system with battery backup, equipment elevation, and possibly an additional pit to better handle water volume and help prevent future flooding.
