It's not a rule, a contract clause, or a compliance framework, but it's a clear signal. 🛡️

The DoW CIO launched its Brilliant at the Basics campaign on July 13, 2026, aimed at small, mid-sized, and non-traditional DIB suppliers. It has no scoring, no certification, and no enforcement. Its IT Top 10 and OT Top 10 lists still reveal where DoD's practical security priorities sit, and several of those practices go beyond what Rev 2 requires today.

Rev 3's formal transition date is still unset, and Class Deviation 2026-O0025 keeps current obligations on Rev 2. The CMMC Reform Task Force recommendations are expected around the time of the conference, but only a new class deviation, DFARS rule, or 32 CFR Part 170 amendment can change contractual obligations.
