Had a great time at Aromas Day this year!

From catching up with neighbors to meeting new faces, it was another fun day celebrating everything that makes this community so special.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Most people think of the San Andreas Fault as something that built California's landscape.

Few realize it also helped build Graniterock.

The original Logan Quarry, now known as the A.R. Wilson Quarry, sits directly along the San Andreas Fault in Aromas. Over time, movement along the fault fractured the granite deposit, making it easier to mine and helping create the opportunity that led to Graniterock's founding in 1900.

When you think about it, the same natural geological forces that shaped California also helped provide the materials used to build railroads, roads, schools, airports and countless more projects across our region.

126 years later, the quarry still remains at the heart of Graniterock's story and serves as a reminder that our history is literally rooted in the ground beneath our feet.

Most people will never know what it takes to rebuild a major roadway in the middle of San Francisco...

They'll just notice that their daily commute feels a whole lot smoother.

That's exactly what lets us know we did our job right. We are proud of the work we did to improve 19th Avenue and keep one of the city's busiest corridors ready for the 66,000+ Bay Area drivers who use it daily!

A disaster that could have shut Graniterock down instead helped shape its future.

When the 1906 San Francisco earthquake devastated California, Graniterock was only six years old. The quake severely damaged the company's steam-powered crushing plant at the Logan Quarry in Aromas and disrupted railroad operations that were vital to moving material throughout the region.

As communities began rebuilding, the demand for construction materials surged. In the years that followed, Graniterock supplied rock and aggregate for reconstruction projects across San Francisco and the Monterey Bay area, helping support the region's recovery after one of the most significant natural disasters in California history.

More than 120 years later, resilience remains part of who we are. What began as a challenge that threatened a young company became an opportunity to help rebuild the communities we call home!
