Sometimes the glass is the easy part… 😂

Today’s first insulated glass replacement decided it wanted to fight us a little.

Once we got into it, we found the existing vinyl window had originally been installed out of square—enough that our new glass unit wasn’t going to fit properly.

So instead of forcing it, we pulled the interior molding, jacked and shimmed the vinyl frame back where we needed it, re-insulated everything, made a slight adjustment to the glass, and got the new unit installed and fitting the way it should. 🔧🪟

Then we headed to the next house and thankfully that one went exactly like they’re supposed to. 😂

You never know what you’re going to find until you get into an existing window. That’s where experience matters.

Not every window problem means you need a whole new window. 🪟🔧

Another one wrapped up by TAC Glass:

✅ 2 new vinyl insulated glass units with grids & Low-E
✅ 4 new window balancers
✅ 1 new window latch

New glass where it was needed, new hardware where it wasn’t. That’s the difference between just selling windows and actually knowing how to repair them.

Fogged glass, broken seals, bad balancers, busted latches, cracked panes — give us a call before assuming the entire window needs to be replaced.

10 more units knocked out today. 💪🪟

The TAC Glass crew stayed moving — 8 insulated glass units replaced on the road and another 2 completed in-house.

Fogged up? Cracked? Failed seal? You don’t always need an entirely new window. In many cases, we can replace the insulated glass unit itself and keep the existing frame.

Out with the failed glass, in with the new. One unit or ten — we’ll get it handled.

A little door maintenance in Clayton! 🔧

TAC Glass was at the Thousand Islands Museum installing two new door closers and getting their entrances operating the way they should.

Glass might be in the name, but commercial doors and hardware are a big part of what we do too. From closers and pivots to complete entrance systems, storefronts and glass replacement — we keep your doors working.

Always cool getting to work on one of our local North Country businesses and landmarks. 👊

A little repair work to keep us busy today! 🔨🪟

From broken commercial entrance glass to residential door/window glass, we got a few more off the list today.

Not every glass job has to be a full replacement. If the frame is still doing its job, there’s a good chance we can replace the glass and get you back in business without replacing the whole thing.
