In 1871, John G. In 1896 he established his own business, John G. Miller Construction.

Miller emigrated from Germany to Iowa, where he worked as a carpenter for several years. In the 1950’s, John G. Miller expanded through the creation of subsidiary Black Hawk Construction to better serve clients outside of Black Hawk County. In 1977 another subsidiary, Cardinal Construction was formed. In the mid 1980’s, all three companies combined to create an employee-owned construction firm, Ca

rdinal Construction, Inc. In 1997, Cardinal Construction acquired Beck Ericson, bringing key leadership to our team. For over a century, Cardinal Construction has built numerous buildings of all types for both public and private sector clients. We are proud of our past and we value the rich experience it has afforded. Today, we are a company of more than 75 employees from varied backgrounds and life experiences. At all levels and in all aspects of business we share a common goal of creating the best possible experience for our clients.

Cardinal Construction is currently hiring a Project Engineer.

The Project Engineer provides management assistance on all assigned projects from conception through completion of finished structure. Project Engineers work alongside Project Managers and jobsite Superintendents to coordinate the work needed to achieve project objectives. The role of a Project Engineer is to drive projects to completion by reacting quickly to issues, innovating solutions, and liaising with project managers and company leaders to secure any resources that are necessary to push a project forward.
