It's that time of year when I start to get self concious about all of my previous recordings and make all new ones. Here is me playing Canon in D on the 7-string violin with looping before a wedding begins at the Colony Club in Detroit.

I made this recording just before a wedding at the Colony Club in D...

What a beautiful evening in St. Clair.

It’s always a good sign when the videographer says they love working with you because of how prepared your setup is. Even though I’m “just the violinist,” tonight’s setup included:

• Two completely separate sound systems
• Two Bose speakers for the ceremony
• Two more Bose speakers plus a subwoofer for cocktail hour
• Dedicated music stands and pedalboards at each location

When the ceremony ended, all I had to do was flip the switch on my belt and instantly broadcast wirelessly to the cocktail hour setup. No moving gear. No awkward silence.

I also ran a wireless Shure mic for the ceremony through a mixer with a direct output ready for the videographer to capture clean audio.

And for the ceremony itself, the entire setup was battery powered. No long extension cords, no grounding hum, just clean sound and a clean look.

Pokemon Cycling Music from Red/Blue/Yellow. One of the best things of being a professional musician is being able to just play whatever music you want. I forget that sometimes and love being able to perform music that shaped my childhood.
