Meet Mitchell, one of our Apprentice Carpenters here at ICC! Mitchell has been with the team for about a year and a half and continues to grow his skills in the trade.
Mitchell’s interest in construction started when he was just 10 years old, watching and helping a crew build a barn on his family’s property. Seeing a stack of lumber and metal turn into a finished structure in just a few days sparked his curiosity and eventually turned into a passion for the trades.
Growing up playing sports taught Mitchell the importance of teamwork, discipline, strategy, and working toward a common goal all things he now brings with him to the jobsite. And apparently, building with Legos helped too!
One of his favorite experiences at ICC has been working on the ceiling tiles at the Bank Tower. Even though he was only one small part of a much larger project, he enjoyed seeing how his work contributed to the finished product.
What motivates Mitchell is what he calls the “scoreboard” of construction. At the end of each day, you can look around the jobsite and physically see what the team accomplished. That progress, along with holding himself accountable to doing quality work, keeps him pushing to improve.
Outside of work, Mitchell enjoys fishing, hiking, long-distance bike rides, and spending time with his family.
Fun fact: Mitchell was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, and spent the first two years of his life there.
Thank you, Mitchell, for your hard work, commitment to learning, and dedication to the ICC team. We’re excited to see you continue growing in the trade!
