🚨 Lawn Health Alert: Ascochyta Leaf Blight 🚨

Crosscut Landscaping has been seeing signs of Ascochyta Leaf Blight in lawns throughout the area. This turf disease commonly affects cool-season grasses such as Kentucky bluegrass, tall fescue, and perennial ryegrass. It can cause sections of your lawn to suddenly appear straw-colored, dried out, or scorched, often shortly after mowing.

What causes it?
Ascochyta Leaf Blight is typically triggered by environmental stress, including:
• Rapid temperature changes
• Drought or inconsistent watering
• Compacted or poor-quality soil
• Improper mowing practices
• Watering too frequently or late in the evening

What can you do to help your lawn recover?
Before considering fungicides, we recommend focusing on proper lawn care practices:

✅ Mow Higher – Keep your mower height between 3.5–4 inches to reduce stress on the turf.

✅ Water Deeply & Infrequently – Apply about 1 inch of water once or twice per week rather than frequent shallow watering.

✅ Avoid Mowing Wet Grass – Mowing when the lawn is wet can spread disease and increase damage.

The good news is that most lawns recover well when stress is reduced and proper cultural practices are followed.

Another landscape refresh completed by Crosscut Landscaping! 🌿

For this project, we removed and disposed of 3 yards of old, worn-out mulch, reinstalled the existing aluminum edging, and added natural bed edging to help define and clean up the landscape. We then finished the transformation with 3 yards of premium triple-shredded dark brown mulch for a fresh, polished look.

The result is clean, crisp bed lines and a landscape that really stands out!

This property was due for a refresh, and the transformation speaks for itself!

Our crew removed the old plastic landscape edging and upgraded the beds with durable Permaloc aluminum edging for a cleaner look and long-lasting performance. We thoroughly w**ded all landscape beds, removed multiple overgrown shrubs that were crowding the space, and professionally trimmed all existing bushes and trees to restore shape and improve curb appeal.

To finish the project, we installed 12 yards of premium red mulch, giving the landscape a fresh, vibrant appearance that will stand out all season long.
