Regular Woolwax is a thick lanolin-based coating that stays soft, tacky, and never dries. It creeps into seams and cavities, self-heals when scratched, works great over existing surface rust, and stops rust by sealing out moisture. It’s messy, attracts dirt, and usually needs reapplication every 1–3 years depending on conditions.

Woolwax Hard-On is their water-based hard-shell coating. It dries to a tough, matte black finish in about an hour and fully cures in 72 hours. It lasts 5+ years, acts as a chip guard and sound deadener, and is much cleaner long-term. But it needs a cleaner surface, which we provide with the laser.
