Back at the track yesterday for more license runs. We got in four before we called it a day. I ran my butt off trying to manage two cars and by the end of the day I felt like I got hit by a truck….several times….

Anyway, my daughter ran a personal best of a 7.39 and Dawn made a personal best of a 7.07. Both cars are turned down so we could get down the track without spinning, but mine still spun quite a bit. Track was in pretty good shape though, and it was a blazing hot (for us here in Alaska) day at 78*. Weather was fantastic! I’ll try to post some vids from yesterday.

Every year 1320Video comes here to Alaska to watch the Car Launch and then comes to the racetrack. This year I managed to get lucky and showed up several times in this year’s video! Enjoy!

The Fourth of July has come and gone, and it was a good one! We FINALLY got the engine issues figured out and will be tweaking the car and converter a little before we're out again. Definitely had some good racing despite missing first round on Saturday, but ran pretty well the rest of the weekend. We will be getting faster as we get better dialed in, but hey, new car blues! Gotta figure stuff out! Had some excitement last run of the weekend as well when Sean Owen got a little out of shape figuring out his new combo! Got both our attention for sure! But everybody is safe, which is the most important. I know Sean is going to look over his car and make some changes to get it settled down, he's gonna be fast for sure! So I think I may have some issues resolved. My combo didn't like the 3.90 gear that was in the car so I swapped in the old 4.10 gear from the other car to see how it did. It was better, but track just didn't take the power. I have a brand new ring and pinion, and just ordered the parts to build a new chunk for the car with a 4.11 ratio gear. I'm thinking of getting a 4.29 as well, to see how it works. My engine can handle and likes the rpm, so maybe that's the direction we need to go. May have the data logging issue solved, need to test a couple of things to confirm. If what I suspect works, we're good, if not, I'm going back to the old setup which I know works. Gotta love new car blues, even with the same engine and trans, you end up with tuning and other bugs. Oh well, that's racing!

Got some things figured out on the car but still have some issues to figure out. Progress is progress though! New video posted on the YouTube channel so check it out. Definitely not my best but it's there! More coming so stay tuned!

Well, today was both a great day and a frustrating one. On the frustrating part, new converter is too loose, having engine tune issues, data recorder isn't working right and shifter isn't working. Car is about 5-6 tenths and 10-15mph slower than it should be too. But.....we still managed to pull it off, came home with the trophy! Got a lot to do over the next couple of weeks to figure things out but I'm sure we will. On to the next!
