This year has been one of the hardest—and one of the most exciting—years we’ve ever experienced as business owners.
If you’ve been following our journey, you know we’re in the middle of a huge transition. Gilded Moon is growing beyond the small remodels and specialty finishes that built our business and stepping into house flips, custom homes, and bringing affordable luxury homes to Alaska. It’s something we’ve dreamed about for a long time, and we’re finally watching those dreams begin to take shape.
But growth isn’t always pretty.
Last year year we unexpectedly went from two crews down to one. In February, Dakota broke his ankle, which slowed us down even more. This year also brought some unexpected and very serious health challenges for me. After years and months of searching for answers, I finally got some and have been focusing on getting healthy again. At times, it meant I had to step back and give myself the grace to heal so I could continue showing up for my family, our clients, and our business. It was a reminder that sometimes you have to slow down, take care of yourself, and trust that healing is part of the journey too. There were days I simply couldn’t give 100% because I needed to take care of my health.
As small business owners, there isn’t really an “off” switch. When life happens, there’s no big company to step in. It’s just us—doing everything we can to keep moving forward, take care of our family, support our team, and serve our clients the best we know how.
To those of you who have been patient with us, shown us grace, encouraged us, referred us to your friends and family, shared our work, and continued to believe in us…thank you. We will never take that for granted.
We know we’ve had some delays. We know this season hasn’t been perfect. But our commitment to quality, honesty, and doing right by our clients has never changed. Neither has our heart.
Sometimes growth looks exciting on social media. Other times, it looks like rebuilding, adapting, and simply refusing to quit.
We’re incredibly excited for what’s ahead. There are so many things happening behind the scenes, and we truly believe the best is yet to come for Gilded Moon Homes.
Thank you for sticking with us through every season. Your support has carried us farther than you know, and we can’t wait to build what’s next—together.
