Access to opportunity starts with knowing where to look and how to compete.

On August 21, Renny Ventura and Dora Gallego had the opportunity to attend the Launch Loudoun Special Event MWAA Certifications Session where we learned more about MWAA'S upcoming $15.5 billion Dulles Airport Renovations project.

The session provided contractors and others in the construction industry with valuable insight into:

1) MWAA’s procurement and contracting process
2) Current and upcoming contracting opportunities
3) Small business certification programs
4) Strategies for positioning their companies to compete for airport-related contracts
5) Policy updates

Beyond the information shared, the event created another important opportunity: connecting contractors with the agencies, resources, and relationships that can help their businesses grow.

That is a key part of MDCHCA’s mission. We help contractors become better informed, better connected, and better positioned to pursue opportunities throughout the DMV.

A special thanks to Tanisha Lewis, Jordan Harkless, and the rest of the MWAA team. A huge thanks to Alberto Fernandez and the Loudoun Economic Development team for hosting the event as well.

Thank you to Harkins for opening the door yesterday to Prince George's County-certified businesses! 🚧

The session at the AC Hotel in National Harbor gave attendees a firsthand look at two upcoming multifamily construction projects, with subcontracting opportunities still available. Those who joined got to meet the Harkins project team, learn about project scope and how the procurement process works, and connect directly with their estimating and project management teams.

We are happy to share this opportunity with our community. It's exactly the kind of access that helps our businesses grow.
