“Do you offer free estimates?”
It’s a fair question, but sometimes an estimate isn’t really what you need.
If you already know what needs to be done, getting a price is straightforward. But when you’re dealing with a leak, water intrusion, a failed repair, or a problem no one seems to be able to solve, you’re asking for something different: experience, investigation, and a diagnosis.
Mike recently wrote about why three free estimates don’t necessarily equal three independent opinions, and why the most valuable part of a proposal may be figuring out what actually needs to be done in the first place.
Before spending thousands on a repair or replacement, make sure you’re solving the right problem.
