Associate Alfredo Davalos, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, NOMA, will join fellow contributing authors for a book signing of "Out in Architecture, Volume II," which explores how identity and lived experience shape careers in architecture.

At the conference we will also celebrate a leadership milestone for Saundra as she prepares to transition into the role of NOMA President for the 2027-2028 term!

LEARNING BY DESIGN, a national magazine focused on educational facilities, features our school belonging research in its Fall 2026 issue. 🍂

Authored by Maya Fraser, AIA, the piece summarizes the background, methodology, and findings of the peer-reviewed research paper, “Built for Belonging: A Nationwide Study on School Design and Adolescents’ Feelings of Social Connectedness.” Among the findings: respondents frequently cited the school library as a place of belonging.

Quinn Evans Principal Anath Ranon, FAIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been named one of Traditional Building's “Twenty-Five Leaders in Traditional Design.”

The recognition highlights Anath’s more than two decades of work renewing historic buildings in Baltimore, including the American Brewery, Latrobe Building, and Lion Brothers Building. It also celebrates her leadership in advancing preservation through AIA Baltimore’s Historic Resources Committee, which she founded, and the city’s Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation.

In an article by The American Institute of Architects (AIA), Quinn Evans is an example of how architecture firms are putting the AIA's Guides for Equitable Practice Activation Kit into action.

In our Washington, DC, office we hosted a Workplace Culture lunch-and-learn, where our team used the kit to discuss what contributes to a healthy, productive work environment.

Staff Designer Lucjan Rostkowski-Covington, Assoc. AIA shared one takeaway saying, "The workplace culture discussion helped us realize how strongly Quinn Evans’ projects and clients align with the values of our employees."

The future Newark Free Library in Newark, Delaware, is taking shape, and we’re proud to be part of the team bringing this new community resource to life!

This week, our team joined New Castle County, City of Newark, Delaware, Wohlsen Construction Company, along with library staff, project partners, and other community members, for a tour of the library’s construction progress. During the visit, we saw the new glass façade taking shape, along with progress on the exterior finishes, building systems, and rooftop solar panels.

Once complete, the new 40,000-sf library will expand community programming through dedicated spaces for a wide range of activities: a maker space, demonstration kitchen, audiovisual recording suite, and 165-seat performance venue, among others. Its prominent street presence will also help establish the library as a symbolic gateway to downtown Newark and its many cultural offerings.

We were pleased to join this year’s APT DC Symposium, “Adaptive Reuse: Policy in Practice,” where Quinn Evans Principal Ethan Marchant AIA LEED AP, shared the story of The Packing House in Cambridge, Maryland.

His presentation, “Built for Industry, Rebuilt for Opportunity,” explored how the former Phillips Packing Company facility, became a vibrant hub for entrepreneurship, innovation, and community use. Through the project, Ethan highlighted how can:

1️⃣ Preserve the character and history of an existing building
2️⃣ Reduce the environmental impacts associated with new construction
3️⃣ Create new economic opportunities for the surrounding community

Recently, we had the pleasure of celebrating the reopening of the Southeast Library in Washington, DC!

We’re grateful to DC Public Library for the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of this important neighborhood resource, and to our design-build partner, Whiting-Turner, and the entire project team for their collaboration in reaching this milestone.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to the project! We look forward to seeing this historic library welcome the community back and serve the neighborhood for years to come.
