Trending right now: natural wood beams.

You can place them in a vaulted ceiling or add them during a kitchen remodel. The result is the same. Using natural wood adds warmth, texture, and character that no other material can match.

We're seeing this in everything from modern farmhouse builds to transitional homes across DC. The key? Choosing the right wood species and finish to complement your existing design.

Would you add wood beams to your home? Tell us below.

Open concept done right.

Knocking down walls is easy, but creating a space that flows takes intention and effort.

Here's what we consider in every open concept design:
- Sightlines from every angle
- Natural light distribution
- Ceiling details that define zones without walls
- Materials that create visual continuity

The result? A home that feels bigger, brighter, and more connected.

We get asked this a lot: "Do you take on every project?"

Honestly? No.

We do our best work when the client and the project are the right fit. That means homeowners who value quality over speed, who want a true partner in the process, and who are ready to invest in doing it right the first time.

Our best clients:
- Own their home in the DC metro area
- Are planning a renovation of $150K+
- Want a design-build team (not just a contractor)
- Value communication and transparency

A kitchen is only as good as its details.

In this featured kitchen remodel, the range hood and backsplash might seem like finishing touches, but they set the entire tone of the room. Do you see that custom hood vent? We made it a sculptural focal point of the whole space. To top it off, we installed a hand-laid backsplash to add texture and movement that tile alone can't achieve.

We obsess over these details because they're what separate a renovation from a surface-level fix .

What catches your eye first, the hood or the backsplash? Tell us below.

Back-to-school season is here, and if your kids are doing homework at the kitchen counter, it might be time to rethink your space.

A dedicated study nook doesn't require a full room. A built-in desk under the stairs, a quiet corner with custom shelving, or a converted closet can make all the difference.

The best homework spaces have:
- Good lighting (natural + task)
- Built-in storage for supplies
- Separation from high-traffic areas

Thinking about creating a study space before school starts? Let's talk.

There’s a reason Massachusetts Heights feels so distinct.

With its quiet streets and close connection to some of DC’s most recognizable architecture, this neighborhood carries a sense of history without feeling frozen in time.

For homeowners, that balance is part of what makes Massachusetts Heights so special. The homes here often have character you cannot recreate, but they also offer opportunities to make daily life feel more comfortable and personal.

Here’s to a neighborhood where timeless design and modern living can meet beautifully.
