With the project well under way, these pictures show the installation of the parapets, moment slab rebar and the pour that would later support the timber curb and guardrail on the Gilbert Stuart Bridge in North Kingstown. The bridge is complete with the new bridge in place over the Gilbert Stuart Brook and opened to traffic in November, 2021.
To kick off the holiday season, we have once again partnered with Construction Industries of Rhode Island (CIRI) to host a food drive benefiting the Rhode Island Community Food Bank!
The pandemic has affected so much; loss of jobs and income, increased prices, and the end of Federal aid benefits mean that many Rhode Islanders will continue to rely on the RICFB to help provide for their families.
Food donations can be brought to Cardi Corporation’s Safety Office at 385 Lincoln Avenue, Warwick, RI and monetary donations can be made online at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/CIRI. Our fundraiser will end November 18 and donations will be picked up by RICFB and distributed in time for Thanksgiving.
Together, we can help to ensure that no Rhode Island family goes hungry this winter!

The steel girders for I-95 over Kingston Road have been set and now crews will concentrate on the bridge deck. Highway and ramp widening along with new highway lighting is progressing quickly and should be complete by the time the new bridge is finished.
Cardi Corporation has begun the reconstruction process on the
Westbound side of Route 37 including the On and Off Ramps of
I-295 for the Intersection Safety - Route 37 and Natick Avenue
project.
With the use of an innovative abutment design, the Kingston Road Bridge, I-95 over Route 138, is quickly moving along. Steel girders will be installed in less than 2 weeks followed by the construction of the concrete bridge deck and barriers and a planned bridge opening later this spring. The project is running well ahead of schedule with completion of all major work targeted for later this fall.
Today we placed a portion of the northbound deck on RTE 295 over Greenville Ave in Johnston, RI.
Cardi Corporation has pushed hard through all of 2020 in Richmond and we've opened a new bridge this week! We completed the new Northbound I-95 bridge over Kingston Road at exit 3, moved all I-95 traffic onto the new bridge and we have already started the demolition of the old Southbound bridge. We have a long way to go, but before the end of 2021, we plan to have the second bridge complete as well as all the ramp construction and paving.
Cardi Corporation has recently completed the Southbound I-295 Bridge over Greenville Avenue in Johnson and is now progressing well with the Northbound bridge. Crews are working thru the winter on the bridge deck and approaches and expect to move traffic onto this new bridge in the early spring. Once we do this we will complete the project by removing the temporary bridge and temporary median roadway as well as milling and paving I-295 within the project limits.
Through this year, Cardi Corporation is reconstructing Runway 16-34 at T.F. Green Airport. This project will completely rebuild nearly a mile of runway, two taxiways and a runway intersection. We are also installing new runway lighting and guidance signs as well as improving stormwater management on the airport property. We are very excited to see the completion of this project late in the year from the air…on our way to some long overdue vacations!
Cardi has 20 boxes of food so far for the RI Community Food Bank! Together with CIRI, we’ve also raised over $3,500 of our $5,000 goal! For more info on how to donate, go to www.CIRI.net or www.Cardi.com and click on the “News” link under the “Our Company” dropdown.
Cardi Corporation recently completed the project Rhode Island Safe Routes to School Program infrastructure Improvements for Narragansett Middle School and the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. This project provides a new shared use path allowing students safe pedestrian access to and from the school. This project features a new, first of it's kind in the State, fiber reinforced polymer pedestrian bridge as well as new paved walking path, bike racks and wood rail fences. We hope the students enjoy this path as much as we enjoyed building it.
Stony Lane Bridge in North Kingstown is one of eleven (11) bridges that are to be repaired by Cardi Corp. on the project known as Bridge Group 18B in the towns of East Greenwich and North Kingstown. Progress on this bridge show concrete barriers installed and the pavement removed on the inner and middle deck section of the bridge. Joint repairs being performed and new pavement on the inner deck section.
We're only a week in and we're already passed the halfway mark on our monetary goal for the RI Community Food Bank! Thank you to all who have donated so far, both monetarily and by dropping off food donations. For details on how and what you can contribute, visit www.CIRI.net or www.Cardi.com and go to the News" page under the "Our Company" tab.

Our food drive to benefit the RI Community Food Bank is off to a great start! Our trucking dispatcher, Michelle Chapdelaine, filled up her whole trunk with items for our pod and D’Ambra Construction has quickly accumulated items as well! Do we sense a little friendly competition???
Monetary donations can be made by going to www.CIRI.net or www.Cardi.com and clicking “News” in the “Our Company” drop-down. Food donations can be brought to the pod outside Cardi’s safety office at 385 Lincoln Ave, Warwick, RI
Cardi has yet another Design-Build construction project for demolition, removal and replacement of the existing two (2) single span bridges #044101 & #044121 and substructures. A temporary bridge has been constructed to shift and protect traffic that currently travels Route 146 over Route 104 (Farnum Pike). The new bridges will be steel plate girder bridges supported on stub abutments set on micropiles. The approach roadway to the bridges will be repaved as well as the roadway below on Farnum Pike. Other highway work will include but not limited to the replacement of existing guardrail, installation of stormwater treatments and placement of new pavement markings.
This holiday season, Cardi Corporation has partnered with Construction Industries of Rhode Island (CIRI) to organize a food drive for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. 1 in 4 Rhode Island Families is struggling with food insecurity as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the highest level in Rhode Island in 20 years! We ask that all who are able make a contribution to the RI Food Bank, either in the form of a non-perishable food item or a monetary donation. Links to a list of most-needed non-perishable food and to our fundraising page can be found on the “News” page of the Cardi Corporation website. Thank you in advance for your donations. Together we can make sure no Rhode Island family goes hungry this winter!

On Sunday July 8th a "Touch a Truck" charity event was held in the Pawtucket Red Sox parking lot that featured firetrucks, RIPTA bus, police vehicle and other construction equipment. We had a Fall River Ready Mix Concrete truck on display that Andy Fyfe put foam baseballs with Cardi logo into the hopper of the concrete truck and shot them down the chute to the ground. One of the balls had a number on it and whichever child got that particular ball got a gift bag. Pictures courtesy of Dianna Bernard.

This morning sections of the new traffic pattern in Apponaug opened! Veteran's Memorial Boulevard Extension had the first official vehicles traveling at 7:00am, directed by project superintendent Al Nazareth. Greenwich Avenue is now opened to two way traffic around the new traffic circle. In the coming weeks the remainder of the project will up opening. Traffic was moving at a steady pace throughout the area. To those unfamiliar with this area, it was previously one way, which would cause traffic to move at a crawl. Great job to all the labors, carpenters, drivers and operators on working together to get this up and running.
