It's no surprise we have alot of stuff! So part of planning your build is being realistic not just about our lives and budget, but also about all of the stuff our homes need to store. So here are 5 key places to add more storage in your build.

1. Built-in mudroom bench - this creates a drop zone and gives items a home that would otherwise be scattered throughout your home.
2. Laundry room cabinetry - while not all plans have laundry room cabinetry included, this is something you ight consider adding if it fits in your budget.
3. Walk-in closets - most floor plans feature walk-in closets, in the owner's suite at the very least, so utilize the space even more with built-in storage.
4. Walk-in pantry - this storage feature is so important that we'll reconfigure any floor plan without a kitchen pantry to include one if it can accommodate one.
5. Linen cabinets/closets - make sure your floor plan has adequate small closet storage or extra cabinets for linens or additional storage.

There are a few different ways we incorporate customization into a build. Perhaps the more obvious way is through selections. The type of flooring, color of paint, stained or painted cabinets, all the way to light fixtures and mirrors are all features in every build and what you choose makes it unique to you.

Another way homeowners might customize is by making changes to a floor plan, adding built-ins somewhere, or adding other details like shiplap or a coffered ceiling.

No one knows your lifestyle or family better than you, so working with a floor plan to make it work for your life is a great starting point!
