When this project is done I'll be moving on to roof and window repairs. Plenty of work for one guy, but this cabin is really coming together.

Several of you messaged me about this cabin, so I thought I'd show you all what it looks like inside!

I understand the obsession. I love it, too.

Nestled in the hills between Cole Camp and Stover. Difficult to get back here at times, but there are a lot of very old roads/paths passing through the property.

The neighbors said they believe it is part of the original Butterfield Trail. Very interesting.

Not going to touch the old oak headers as they are original to the house and undamaged, aside from warping.

New project started today. Doing some deck repairs first, and then I'll be framing and screening in the porch. I will also be building a screened in section over the outdoor shower on the right endwall.

Working on old cabins can come with surprising challenges, but the end result makes it all worthwhile.

Nothing fancy, but practical. Customer just wanted to replace what was rotten for the time being, so I built it the way it was! Although I did add a bigger handrail for support. New steps and landing.

This is one of two log cabins on the property. I'm not sure how old they are, but they are absolutely beautiful and worth restoring. Looking forward to future projects. Hopefully I can get some interior pics next time.

Tomorrow I'll be replacing and repairing the steps, landing, and handrail to the back deck of his log cabin.
