Pool closings aren't just about lowering the water, blowing out the lines and putting the cover on. It’s also the perfect time to give your filtration system some much-needed attention.

These cartridges came out of a pool we recently closed. A thorough cleaning removes the dirt, oils and debris that have built up throughout the season so they aren’t sitting there all winter.

Rainwater can dilute your pool water, which means your chemistry can shift after a good rainfall.

After significant rain, it’s a good idea to check:
💧 Chlorine
💧 pH
💧 Alkalinity
💧 Water level

And while a little rain usually isn’t cause for concern, several inches of rain can make a noticeable difference in your pool’s balance.

September doesn’t automatically mean it’s time to put the cover on. With milder temperatures, many pool owners choose to keep their pools open a little longer and enjoy those last warm afternoons of the year.

In our area, the first freeze typically isn’t a concern until later in the fall, so there can still be plenty of pool season left.
