Time and time again I see hydrangeas get chopped down at the base instead of the individual taking the time to individually prune each stem. Running a pair of trimmers through this bush won’t necessarily kill it, but it definitely doesn’t do it justice. Even for the variety that grow on new wood, it benefits the structure of the plant to prune by hand, you get more blooms, and helps prevent disease. Make sure to prune your hydrangea just above a new node, on a slight angle, not exactly a 45. Don’t leave too much room above the node.

-Performing most tasks related to groundskeeping and Gardening.

Properly pruning your Bradford Pear is easy. Measure up how ever high you want from the base and have at it. The angle of removal isn’t necessary with this species of tree.

It’s Bradford Pear trimming season. To properly trim your Bradford Pear, use a chainsaw to make a cut on the main trunk, as flush to the ground as possible.
