The first step to this historic door restoration was removal of the doors with temporary door installed in their place.
-
Due to the new hardware we had to fill in some old hardware holes with mahogany dutchman. We then started with a deep sand to knock down most of what was there. We then sprayed multiple coats of a high build two part primer and applied multiple rounds of a two part polyester filler. Many hours of sanding later we had a flat and smooth substrate.
-
Next we applied a coat of oil primer follow led by two coats of Hollandlac Brilliant brushed!
-
We then stained the interior Dorman to match the existing stain and then applied one coat of Maribe Yacht varnish to the interiors.

These doors will last and look amazing for years to come!
