S&S Overhead Door is a family owned and operated business that has

been serving the suburban Boston area for more than 50 years. In the early 1950's the company's founder, Vincent Scalese learned the craft of door repair and installation having worked for a New England based commercial garage door service. With the post-war housing boom, new construction flourished in the areas west of Boston inspiring Vincent to establish a business that would provide sales, service and installation of residential garage doors and electric operators. In 1954 Vincent Scalese began S&S Overhead Door Company with hopes that his son would one day join him in the business bringing to life the title Scalese & Son. In 1977 Vincent's son Gary assumed operation of S&S Overhead Door working with Vincent until his retirement in 1985. More than fifty years later Gary and his son, Justin have continued to provide the same quality service that S&S has been known for through three generations.

Garage door emergencies are stressful, and unfortunately, some companies take advantage of that urgency.

Over the years, especially the last few months, we’ve received calls from homeowners who felt pressured into making an immediate decision or were told they needed repairs that weren’t actually necessary. Being able to provide an honest second opinion and help ease their worries is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

We’ve also been called by customers after they had already moved forward with another company’s repair, only to discover the wrong parts were installed, shortcuts were taken, or they were misled about what their door actually needed. We’ve helped correct those repairs and get their doors operating safely and reliably again.
