The Beam Team continues to build momentum ahead of this year's Prouty, an annual fundraiser for the Dartmouth Cancer Center.

Just a few weeks ago, we shared that our team had raised more than $18,000. Thanks to the generosity of our employees, families, friends, partners, and community members, that number has now grown to more than $56,000.

The support has been so strong that we've increased our fundraising goal once again as we work toward another impactful year for this important cause.

For more than 20 years, Bensonwood associates have come together to participate in The Prouty as riders, walkers, runners, rollerbladers, supporters, survivors, caregivers, family members, and advocates. Each year serves as a reminder of the power of community and what can be accomplished when people rally behind a common purpose.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. Your support helps fund cancer research, patient care, and family services through the Dartmouth Cancer Center.

Many people assume a homebuilding budget is determined primarily by square footage. In reality, some of the biggest factors are the level of customization you want, and where you decide to invest.

Would you rather allocate more of your budget toward architectural flexibility, or toward finishes you'll interact with every day? Does a predesigned framework sound limiting, or does it create room for upgrades elsewhere? The answers are different for every homeowner.

The good news is that building within budget doesn't have to mean sacrificing quality. Often, it starts with understanding your priorities and making intentional decisions about where your investment will have the greatest impact.

Our latest blog explores how different homebuilding approaches, customization options, and finish selections can influence your budget and help you build with confidence.

Built by our millwork team, these custom doors combine carefully selected Douglas fir, white oak, and mahogany with the performance standards we expect throughout the rest of the home.

Each door is 3 1/4 inches thick and includes 2 inches of insulation, triple pane glass, and dual gaskets that help create a durable, airtight seal. The result is an entry system designed to support comfort, efficiency, and long-term performance through every season.

What makes these doors special is the combination of craftsmanship and engineering. Behind every door is a team of skilled woodworkers, thoughtful material selection, and a commitment to getting the details right.

Pictured here are a few members of the team alongside four recently completed doors, each built for a specific home and homeowner.

By the time our crew arrived to raise this Värm, much of the home's structure was already complete. The walls arrived with framing, insulation, windows, and weather-resistant layers already integrated, allowing the home to move quickly from foundation to a protected shell.

In just 10 days, the structure was assembled and enclosed, with much of the work that is typically exposed to rain, snow, and changing weather already completed in our climate-controlled facility.

That means fewer weather-related risks, greater quality control, and a faster path to a home that is ready for the next phase of construction.

Every project is different, but the goal remains the same: creating a durable, high-performance home while reducing uncertainty during construction.

Plan Spotlight: Värm Torsby

The Värm Torsby is designed to create separation where it matters while still keeping the home connected and open for everyday living. The main kitchen, dining, and living spaces flow together beneath 9' ceilings and extend directly into a three-season screened porch, creating comfortable gathering spaces throughout the year.

A private first floor primary suite offers quiet separation from the upstairs bedrooms, while the connector space introduces flexibility with a dedicated office and additional storage. Upstairs, an open den between the secondary bedrooms can adapt over time as a lounge, library, playroom, or workspace.

Like all Värm homes, the Torsby combines thoughtful design with Bensonwood’s high-performance panelized building system, creating a home designed for comfort, efficiency, and long term durability.

Step inside a Bensonwood Xyla!

We're inviting visitors to tour this recently completed Xyla home in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. Designed around single-level living, the 1,905 square foot home combines exposed timber, vaulted ceilings, and large windows to create bright, comfortable spaces that stay connected to the outdoors.

The home includes two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, an outdoor patio, and an attached two-car garage, all thoughtfully arranged to support long-term living without sacrificing openness or character.

Members of our sales team will be on site to answer questions and provide a closer look at the design, building process, and what it's like to live in a Bensonwood home.

The right piece of land isn't always the most dramatic or the most remote. It's the one that supports the way you want to live, both today and years from now.

Some people are looking for mountain views. Others want a walkable neighborhood, room for a garden, easy access for family visits, or a quiet place to enjoy the changing seasons.

Thinking through things like sunlight, access, views, utilities, and how a property changes throughout the year can help you make a more informed decision before the design process even begins.

Our 7-Step Guide explores some of the key questions worth asking before you build.

Over the past few months, our Training & Recruitment Coordinator, Christian DuBois, has been on the road connecting with students, job seekers, and future craftspeople throughout New Hampshire and Vermont.

From career fairs at Keene High School, Monadnock Regional High School, and Fall Mountain Regional High School to apprenticeship and workforce development events hosted by ApprenticeshipNH and local career centers, these conversations are an important part of how we invest in the future of our industry.

As our company continues to grow, we remain committed to helping create pathways into the trades and introducing the next generation to opportunities in timber framing, panelized construction, millwork, design, and manufacturing.

A big thank you to Christian and everyone involved in organizing these events. We always enjoy meeting students and job seekers who are curious about where a career in the trades can lead.

In preparation for a new Bensonwood home arriving later this year, these clients needed to remove an existing mid 20th century house from their property. Rather than sending the structure to a landfill, they partnered with a local affordable housing organization and worked with their general contractor to carefully de-panelize the home into transportable sections.

Those sections will be moved, placed on a new foundation, and given a second life for someone else to live in.

It is a thoughtful approach that reduces waste, preserves usable materials, and extends the life of an existing home while making room for the next chapter.

Kudos to our clients, and everyone involved in making it happen!

We may still be seeing a few chilly mornings here in New England, but photos like this have us looking forward to summer.

A well designed home is about more than the spaces inside. It's about creating places to gather, relax, and enjoy the seasons with family and friends. With warmer days just around the corner, this poolside setting is looking especially inviting.

Here's to longer days, sunshine, and spending more time outdoors with family and friends.
